π Making WBR: Subject 05
A time-lapse making-of video about Yu Yin, The Warp, the fifth test subject from Warped Beyond Recognition.
I wanted Yu Yin to be something of a puzzle in Warped. She's actually the only test subject who won't ever intentionally harm the PCs, yet she is, in some ways, the most dangerous of them all.

The experiments have transformed her into a maelstrom of warping spacetime, her body slipping back and forth between realspace and hyperspace, and anything she touches will be brought with her, torn and twisted into unseen dimensions.
She sequesters herself in the ship's isolation chamber to keep away from everyone β and from the hull β in order to protect them, but on her own all she can do is just barely keep herself in one piece. She perceives hyperspace and realspace simultaneously, as intertwined and overlapping, and her ability to understand what's happening around her is very limited.
The key to helping her is ultimately in hyperspace. When the ship makes a jump while she's aboard, her body and sense of self reunites and stabilizes for the duration. Per the implied Mothership setting, hyperspace is terrifying and bizarre, but for her it has become the closest thing she has to stability. Since androids are most able to withstand the vagaries of hyperspace and don't go into cryo for jumps, they will likely encounter her, once again whole, wandering the ship. If talked with in this state, it may be possible to help her regain some control over herself and function more normally in realspace.
It's not in the module, but in my home campaign there are unknown things watching from hyperspace, and those with psychic abilities are easiest for them to track. Yu Yin, always having some part of her intertwined with hyperspace, is like a shining beacon to them, and can attract a lot of unwanted attention. Her and Sonia (Subject 06, video coming soon) are probably the easiest characters to get long-term campaign hooks out of!
